Good food but this location is typically very crowded but the again so is every Panera Bread. I love their salads! Their lettuce is always so fresh & crispy!

The food is definitely 5 stars but the level of service leaves very little to be desired. There are several things I can count on when I go to this Panera. If I order a Spinach and Artichoke Souffle they will give me a Spinach and Bacon Souffle. The lines are ridiculously long and I always get the cashier that's new and in training. On my last visit I was given the wrong souffle(suprise!)...I walk up to a cashier who isn't serving anyone and I ask if she can exchange my souffle. She walks over to the cashier that served me who is now busy with other customers and tells her she needs to take care of my problem. REALLY?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I was dumbfounded. The cashier that served me was annoyed and asked her why couldn't she fix. I don't blame her for being annoyed, the cashier could have just exchanged it. But no, it's better her for to argue with her colleague instead of actually trying to recover the service.

Bad. I used to be a regular here. I used to play chess here all the time, but no the service got terrible. The food is not good anymore. Than all of sudden this weird Serbian guy named George comes by and harass all the chess players and he smells like old fish mixed with dog feces. He also wears sandals and puts his fricking feet up on the table, showing off his fungi. He harassed me few times and I went to complain to the mgmt, they didn't care, they never kicked him out, and he still there every evening harassing chess players and customers. I AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Great soups and pastries. Love Panera. Have never been disappointed in the quality of the food. Service is always friendly and service is fairly quick.

If you are looking for a Panera this is definitely one. Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean, and the food comes out quickly.

I was very disappointed. They had terrible salads with awful dressings, inedible. They are very commercial. Nothing has a homemade feel or taste. Nothing worth another visit.

I love the atmosphere inside this pandora. So far everything I've tried has been good. I usually go for a morning coffee since I prefer sitting here than the Starbucks nearby.

Nothing much to write about, if you been to one Panera, you've been to all. Except....the difference is the service. I had the turkey avocado BLT with a thai chicken salad and it wasn't really good. There was a huge clump of avocado in the sandwich that I had to cut up into slices to fit into the sandwich and then thai salad was spicy but it tasted icky. I won't be ordering those items again. The staff here were nice and prompt with the orders.

First time enjoying anything to eat at Panera Bread in a dawg's-age! Me likey. A potential client for my social media marketing and management services suggested we meet here. I was early, so I decided to enjoy a steak bagel and a large lemonade whilst waiting... The stea-gel was $5 bucks and was tre tasty, atop a warm, every-thang bagel. The lemonade was a bit sweet but refreshing nonetheless. And it looks like I got the client. I may have to patronize Panera some more-a. As a fabulous cherry-on-top, Hallandale's own retired gas-bag society were having their regular Friday-retiree retreat at the largest table they could push together right inside the front door, so that added to the entertainment value. Interesting side note: I tried in vain to find Panera on my handy-dandy Yelp app and it would not come up despite repeated attempts. Hmmmmm..... Thanks for reading, Cabeza OUT!

The worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant or any business for that matter. On 02\01\15 at about 8:00 am., I went to this restaurant and before I ordered, I went to the bathroom. I was in the stall less than a minute when someone began pounding on the door. When I was finished and opened the door, I met the manager of the restaurant staring me down. I asked if there was a problem, and he told me that he doesn't want homeless people in his restaurant. (I'm not homeless by the way.) He then began to follow me out to of the bathroom trying to intimidate me. This is when I decided to write an e-mail to Panera Bread about the way I've been treated. So I went to the manager and asked him his name. This is when he got in my face as if he wanted to fight me. I told him that I would be writing to the corporation about his attitude, and sat down to do so. About two minutes later a police officer approached me asking me to leave. I was then detained by the Hallandale Beach police because the manager called them and fabricated a story about me causing trouble in his restaurant, and refusing to leave. I was never asked to leave. A man with such a froward disposition shouldn't be working around the public.

I am a huge fan of panera bread.... and usually go to my nearest panera bread to work but this is the worst location.... BY FAR!

  • Gary B.

I usually enjoy going to Panera, but this is by far the worst run one I've been to. Long slow moving lines. Every pot of coffee except decaf was empty and long wait for someone to bring more. Next, there was no cream. Another wait for that. I'd find somewhere else to go if you don't have an extra hour to spare.

Terrible does not begin to describe this place. The food is almost as bad as the customer service. They don't care period. I order the soup and salad. The soup was cold and the salad was prepared twice and I just gave up. Don't bother with this place. Go to Las Vegas next door or El Taita or the sushi place.

Panera, Panera. If you love bread, make sure to hit this place up! They carry a wide variety. Soups, amazing. Go for the brocolli and cheesse - again, simply amazing. Now, if you love bread & soup, you should totally go for the bread bowl. Weird concept, I know but you should try it. Personally, I'm not THAT big of a fan of bread but I do like to play with my food, which is essentially what you get. Word of adivce though, when you get the bread bowl, make sure they actually cut out the center for you. Last time I literally got a round ball of bread and had to cut it myself. If you're new to this joint, make sure you order correctly. If your decision is to do the half and half specify that by saying "You pick two". Next, let them know if you want it to go. Other than that you should be straight. As for the sides, the chips are a little salty (which sometimes we crave). If not, the apple is small but pretty good, mainly because they give it to you nice and cold. SCORE! This seems to be a pretty hip place for all the grandma's and grandpa's so if you're hitting them up for lunch. Plan to stand in a relatively huge line for 10-15 minutes. Overall, not a bad place. Did I mention that they have free wifi internet access?!! Heck yeah.

Great place to sit & work, read, etc. Plus if you sit for awhile, you can ALWAYS hear the staff cursing at each other - usually about their hours. Very entertaining.

I love Panera.. always have... always will. However, THIS Panera's service is terrible. The location is fantastic - lots of people watching and lots of outside seating. The food is typical for Panera - either you love it or don't (I love their sandwiches and soups - coffee not so much). Parking is fine - huge parking lot - always full near Panera so you may have to walk a bit - not a big deal. I have given this Panera location several tries (I live very nearby so it is convenient for me). However, I have not yet had one visit where the service was even okay. Here are some examples of the poor service: 1. failing to mention they were out of feta cheese, olives, and other items that were critical to my salad and instead giving me romaine lettuce (pretty much plain) and then being less than pleasant when I asked about my salad - REALLY?) and still charging me the same amount! 2. Twenty minutes for soup and salad (why? it just needs to be put into a bowl/plate) 3. numerous other not so great service experiences and just unpleasant and unhelpful staff If you like Panera and are close by, then go.. but be willing to wait and possibly not get what you ordered but only realizing that after you sit down because no one bothered to tell you they were out of what you ordered : (

You know two bad reviews in a row is unlike me, but this place sucks. Ive seen airports less crowded than this place. The line up is horrible. The person taking your order is also getting your coffee or your bagel or running your order to the sandwich monkeys in the back. What a completely stupid system! Take the money you give to the panthers hockey team and invest in a true two tier kitchen system for christ's sake. A lot of times I just want a tasty brownie, but I got to wait ten minutes while the person in front is contemplating the future of their bagel. Plus everyone's grandma is in there. There is no room for their walkers or wheelchairs, really Code Enforcement need to get their act together in Hallandale if they are going to approve/build places like this. The food, interesting choices but they should change it to two peices of artsy bread with little chicken bits. My cat would complain. The tomato soup is good as is their desserts, they dont cheap out like offerdahls. But for 10 bucks every time i go in there. I dont think it's worth it. Plus sitting with the champion lawnbowling team from Quebec City doesnt thrill me either. Not an efficnet place and could add more freebies to the menu choices. This place gets deux étoiles. Blaghhhhhhhhh

this panera in hallandale beach is pretty bad, rude staff and inconsistent food, i recently had a hair in my sandwich here!

Excellent sandwich and soup sellection! Make sure you are clear in your order because the kitchen people are a little rude when you want something different from what the order says. Besides that, it's a great place to go. A plus: Free Wifi that works fast.

We always loved Panera, went to different location and always had a great experience. Except in the Hallandale FL location. We ordered two upic2 and the bread we got was only half baked and not edible at all, more like chewing gum. I asked the cashier politely if I could have a rightly baked bread and to my surprise she only told me its the only one they got and its baked like they always bake it. Well, i dont complain often and i dont think i am over critical, but that was really dissapointing and i think this place needs new management.

Panera's major attraction is the infinite free refills. Alas, some of the noisiest and most inconsiderate local yokels have discovered they can sit there all afternoon for a couple dollars. And that can ruin your experience. But still, the free refill is an American tradition, are you listening, Starbuck's? The problem at Panera is long line-ups. Don't blame the staff, they are over-tasked. Panera's corporate big-wigs have instituted rules they don't have to obey themselves, such as the harried cashier doubling as bagel-toaster. What moron came up with that one? Oh yeah, Starbucks again. If you only have a twenty-minute coffee break, don't chance Panera. The line-ups are glacial. They way they've arranged things, Panera cannot field their peak periods. Every second customer seems to use the condiment area as a prep counter. There is something Panera lacks to discourage this bad customer behavior that other restaurants seem to have aced. Prices are steep except for the free refills. Panera patrons are borderline working class slash middle class, so the place can be noisy. I don't enter unless I can see the place is mainly empty from the parking lot. If they can define their market better and get their staff focused on flow-through, I might go there more often. As it stands, I cannot recommend Panera and for that I hold the headquarters responsible, not the beleaguered staff. PS: I remind Panera that a cup is a unit of measurement containing 8 ounces. There is no such thing as a "big" cup or a "small" cup except to the exceedingly uneducated. Panera's smallest size is currently 16 ounces, or two cups, meaning your choice is to slurp it like a hog or let it go cold. Wise up Panera, and offer a real cup for a buck.

  • Leon M.

Like rudeness and tiny portions for the price? Then this panera is for you! Chicken salad sandwich had maybe a 1/4 of a scoop of the main ingredient. Once I said "have a nice day" four times to the cashier, and she still did not respond. That said, tomato soup is always pretty good here, hence 2 stars, not 1.

    (2)
  • Thomas K.

I always get the soup and sandwich combo, its a great deal. Any panera you go to will have the same tasting food and quality, however, this panara's service sucks. It's overcrowded with tourists and snowbirds, long lines, and it takes forever to get your order. I only recommend stopping in if you have some time to spare. The patio is nice to sit on only when there is no smelly bum or homeless woman begging for money sitting next to you.

Let me start off by saying I have been eating at panera bread (and their st.louis bread company counterpart) for over 15 years, now. This is by FAR the worst panera bread I have EVER seen. 1) The smoked turkey on country sandwich had (1) measily piece of turkey on it, with a couple sprouts, and was about 1/2 the size it normally is, and no pickle was included until I asked. When I inquired about this, I was told "have you ever ordered the sandwich before, this is how it always is", I have been eating the same fucking sandwich for 15 years, DUH. 2) The broccoli cheddar soup was cold, and like water. It is usually thick and creamy.. is this panera bread saving $ by adding water to the soup bowl? 3) The chicken salad sandwich had a scoop of chicken salad (aprox 2tbsp) and was also 1/2 the size as usual. When we requested more chicken salad, we were sneered at, and provided with another tablespoon..#winning, I guess? 4) The caesar salad was pathetic. The lettuce had brown bits, there was hardly any dressing (1-2tsp), and it was warm. 5) The service sucks, and the manager is not helpful. When I asked for her, she was on the phone and kept talking even though I was 2 feet away. 6) The empty tables, were dirty and not cleaned after each customer. Lazy fucks. We complained and were provided with a new meal, which was slightly better, but not much. What a ripoff, I would avoid this place like the plague.

"Meh. I've experienced better." True. In fact, every other Panera Bread except for this location lives up to its to the hype. If you're new to Panera Bread, make sure you're able to decipher the menu, because it takes a while to crack the code and get what you want. Twice I've entered here and gotten crappy meals (i.e., old Swiss cheese, old meat, etc.). The service also deserves a "Meh.", but that's understandable, sell bad quality sandwiches and expect a grin on every other customers face. The only great thing about THIS location are the bagels and soups; oh, and the seating. So, my advice would be to skip Panera, and go get an authentic sub or hot sandwich at John's, which is a door away.

This location was my first Panera Bread Experience... So far I have eaten there about three times to date. My first time the experience was Great!!! I ordered half turkey avocado and half French Onion Soup, which was sooo delicious that I decided to go back again the next day, but that's when it hit me. The first day I was new and the experience was new. The second day Rude Rude and more Rude non helpful Customer Service. Food was thrown together, Soup was Salty, and meal was not cheap, and also I learned they never gave me my chips or apple on day one. Ok, so I just left and thought to myself maybe I caught them on a bad day, about a week later I decided to give them yet another try, for the third time, I ordered the same meal but this time it was awful, turkey didn't taste fresh, and soup was waaaay to salty, I was pissed! for $13 I was not satisfied, I ended up throwing away my soup and I most likely won't be back to this location no time soon, they are very inconsistent...

Service was excellent the day we went on Apr 5-6th 2012. Coffee is excellent. We also ordered sandwiches to bring with us on the plane which were excellent. The entrance doors and ground brick work could be cleaned out to give the shop a more appealing reception. The Cuban restaurant next door was cleaning his entrance with a pressure washer. Also, a lot of hang-outs outside therefore difficult to keep it clean and it is not at all suitable to eat outside, furniture is dirty.

Panera beats Starbucks! With a great menu, breakfast sandwiches, salads, pastries and breads Panera is the go to spot for me. The staff is friendly and efficient. The place is clean and well maintained. Selection is great! AND i LOVE the coffee.

This Panera is the worst. The service is pretty bad. I ordered a latte and a salad. the salad came out quick, but when I went to pick it up the girl behind the counter sternly told me to put the buzzer in the basket. I waited about 15 minutes for my latte, then ate my salad. I still hadn't gotten my coffee. I went back to the counter and they asked me what I ordered because they forgot. Everyone had an attitude. I will not go back.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. I ordered a fontina chicken sandwitch and the chicken was still frozen. Also everyone was yelling at eachother, and the weird russian woman manager gave me a hard time when I complained. Got a new sandwitch, and it was ok. Strange negative vibe in that place.

Carb-loving heaven. There is nothing I love more than having more bread than I know what to do with. To start off - the soups. Oh dear god, those bread-bowl soups with brocolli and cheese. Who invented this? Gone are the days of dipping your bread into your soup. Being able to scrape off the inside of the bread bowl with each bite is such an amazing technology to me. Second, the sandwiches. By far, the best tasting sandwich I've ever had, ever. I mean, obviously the theme here is bread, and that is certainly the best part of the sandwich. A sandwich can never be good if the bread sucks. I don't care if you've got a bacon-wrapped burger. It's going to suck if the bread sucks guaranteed. The ingredients are secondary here and everything is uber fresh and perfect. And now you tell me they have a 1/2 sandwich and soup deal? What are you doing to me, Panera? Come during lunch and expect a 10-15 min wait because everyone loves Panera.

  • Kay C.

I've come plenty times before and have had satisfactory service. tonight however was horrible I asked the girl behind the counter Amanda if some of the scones were really sweet and she told me she had no idea and rolled her eyes... then I said I had a panera card I just needed to look for it and she told me my total and just waited there with her hand out which I found to be extremely rude. She also didn't give me a bag for my items and threw them all in the box loosely and then when I asked her for a bag and if she could put my scone separate from the cinnamon raisin muffin she grabbed it out of my hand and took it to a back table to fix it. on the upside the coffee was brewed right before I arrived. but ultimately the most rude experience I've ever received at any panera.

  • Melissa L.

The food was good, but I was so so unhappy with the service. The people who worked here were very rude and did not treat me with respect. They rushed me when ordering, and threw my food on the counter when it was ready.

Went in today with my wife and ordered t a turkey sandwich with sauce on the side. The sandwich came with a sauce on it so I took it back and they happily made me a new one and gave me a free pastry for the inconvenience. I left a very happy customer. The manager Pazzano was very nice.

Seems like I got here right before rush hr because the lines became extremely long but the service was good they gave me a buzzer to wait for my food but the manager brought my food to my table. The broccoli and cheddar bread bowl was sooooo good! The avocado turkey blt was also good I'll be back!

I come to this location regularly to play chess and have to say that this place is always welcoming and has a great atmosphere. Super friendly staff, delicious food, yummy soups, and freshly baked bread. My favorite is the sour dough bread. I want to give a shout out to cashier Anastacia. She always smiles and makes great suggestions like adding a banana for a better flavor to the Green Passion Power smoothie (220 cal, $4.29). On a side note I would highly recommend becoming a member of the MyPanera Loyalty Program that currently has 10 million members. For example if you were a member of this program during the month of July your coffee would be complimentary.

They have the worst scones I've ever eaten. They taste like Bisquick/water n dried berry things. I'm sure it's better than the so called scone alternative which is filled with lemon stuff OR a mixed berry deal, both with a thick auger glaze. It's just awful and a long line of suckers waiting but for what; I'm sure it's all brought in from some central plant. I normally bake my own and make clotted cream for them as well. Ho hummm, I shall go home and watch The Blandings after this Mosurrimadescone. Panera's Bakery-Cafe section includes a wide array of pastries, such as croissants, bagels, cookies, brownies, etc. They also have a menu for this section of the restaurant that promotes items such as hot breakfast sandwiches, fast food bakery what next?

  • Naty K.

I'm not sure why this particular Panera has such poor reviews, although I have only been here once, and had no issue. It was your standard Panera food and service. The cashiers were friendly and even recommended I choose another food item since I had a $2 off reward on my Panera card for a salad. They did not need to do that, so it was appreciated. The line wasn't long, there was only one person in front of me. As I said, no issues for me coming here, though the tables were pretty full and it was difficult to find a seating area, for what it's worth.

This place has good food, but a little pricey. I would not mind to pay the extra buck considering that it is healthier than other places, but what about that terrible customer servicE? I stay in line patiently waiting for my turn when somebody breaks a plate somewhere in the back. The cashier lady, Anna something, gets all excited and says :" uuu something exciting happened!!!" and leaves to see what. i had to call her several times in order to make her realize customers are waiting. After all that , I go to the bathroom. No paper towel , the hand soap was clogged, I had to shove my hand in the dispenser... When I tell an employee about the situation, he rolls his eyes . Behind him another lady in the salad department rolls her eyes too. What is wrong with these employees? Same situation in Aventura location. Such a shame, will not return.

I come here about 2 times a week during my lunch break. Food is always exactly what I order and it tastes delicious. The staff is friendly and efficient. Definitely one of my favorite panera sites.

I love Panera, but not this Panera. Why? They are so SLOW. There is ALWAYS a line that is to the door, if not out the door. That may be partly the customers to blame when they can't decide what to order, but the registers are way understaffed for the volume during rush hour. Then getting food is another slow process. I've always been impressed by the speed that Panera prepares food, but here.. nope. Even something as simple as just soup, you can count on waiting. I hate to burst the Floridian bubble, but every other state I have had Panera in delivers the food to you if you are dining in and does not make you stand in an already crowded walkway to pick up your food. Every other Panera I've been to will also ask if you would like chips, apple or a baguette and I think out of the dozen or more times I've been here, I've been asked that question once. Oh, if you wanted to know what to eat: Salads (in order of preference): Fuji apple chicken salad, Thai chicken salad, Soba noodle salad (possibly seasonal, I haven't seen it on the menu lately) Sandwiches: Sierra turkey, Bacon turkey bravo, Fontina grilled cheese Soups: Broccoli cheddar! I also am a fan of their mac and cheese, but I just read an article about how it is microwaved. foxnews.com/leisure/2014… That article also ruined my love for Wendy's chili. They are lucky that they have one thing right and that is: location! It was super convenient to my work. However, if possible, skip this location for your panera needs.
